Freeze Spell

    When the going gets hot, stay frosty!\n\nThe Freeze Spell sends out a cryogenic blast that temporarily immobilizes enemy troops and disables defensive buildings within its radius.

    The Freeze Spell is an Elixir Spell unlocked by upgrading the Spell Factory to level 3, which requires a Town Hall level 9.

    This spell was introduced with on the June 2013 Update.

    Freeze Spell Explained

    The Freeze Spell disables all enemy defenses and troops within a 3.5 tiles radius.

    While the spell is in effect, enemy troops (ground and air units) will not move and defenses will not fire a single shot.

    Stacking Freeze Spells

    There is no reason to stack multiple Freeze Spells. A single spell already completely freezes all defenses and enemy troops inside its radius, so stacking another one on top of it will not make any difference.

    The same occurs with the Ice Golem death ability to freeze and defenses and enemy troops in a short radius. Be careful to not stack another Freeze Spell at the same time to not waste a spell.

    Upgrade Differences

    Upgrading this spell only increases the freeze duration and cost of production.

    The effect remains the same on all levels because even on level 1 it freezes 100% everything inside its radius.

    How to Use the Freeze Spell

    Freeze Spell is mostly used against the most powerful defenses.

    The most common use is against single-target Inferno Towers. Once it locks on an important troop or Hero, the only way to make it stop is with a Freeze Spell. It will not only freeze the Inferno for a few seconds, but it will also reset its target and reset it to its initial state.

    On Air Attacks it is constantly used on Air Defenses.

    This spell can also be used to freeze enemy Clan Castle troops. However, using only for this purpose might be a waste of spell, but depending on the base layout you can also affect some important defenses at the same time. With the troops frozen you can effectively stack a Poison Spell on them and they will remain inside of the Poison Spell the entire time taking massive damage.
