Magic Potions explained: how to use and how to obtain these Magic Items.
Potions are a type of Magic Item used to boost certain aspects of gameplay for a short period. Each type of Potion can boost a specific aspect of the gameplay.
Potions vs Books
Books are used to instantly finish an ongoing upgrade, while Potions will boost something for a short period.
There are currently 6 types of Potions on the game:
Obtaining Potions
Potions randomly appear at the Shop to be purchased with real money on special Packs. Potions will also occasionally appear at the Daily Discounts barrack where they can be bought with Gems.
However, you can still obtain Potions without spending money or Gems. They are constantly awarded on Clan Games or special events and can always be purchased at the League Shop using Gems. This is how most people get them.

Builder Potion
Brewed by the Builder in case of emergency all-nighters, this invigorating potion allows your builders to work 10x faster for 1h. Works in Home Village!
The Builder Potion boosts the player's Builders in the Home Village for 1 hour. All Builders will work ten times as fast as normal, each one gaining a total of 9 hours.
This Potion applies only to the builders on your Home Village, including the Master Builder if he is gearing up a defense over there.
It can be purchased for 285 Gems or 15 League Medals and sold for 10 Gems.
Clock Tower Potion
This thick elixir made from ground-up magic cogs activates your Clock Tower boost for 30m. Works in Builder Base.
This Potion activates the Clock Tower on your Builder Base for 30 minutes.
It can be purchased for 75 Gems and sold for 10 Gems.
Hero Potion
This potent potion temporarily boosts all Heroes and Pets to the maximum level allowed at your Town Hall level for 1h. Works in both Villages!
This potion instantly adds 5 levels to your Heroes for 1 hour. However, the upgrade is capped by the current limit level of the specific Hero by available on your Town Hall.
It can be purchased for 300 Gems and sold for 10 Gems.
Power Potion
This strong-smelling magical brew boosts Troops, Spells and Siege Machines to the maximum level allowed at your Town Hall level for 1h. Works in both Villages!
The Power Potion instantly upgrades all troops and spells to their max level allowed on the current Laboratory or Star Laboratory. It lasts for 1 hour it's not applied to Heroes. It can be used on Clan Wars and Clan War Leagues.
It can be purchased for 75 Gems and sold for 10 Gems.
Research Potion
This healthy-looking beverage helps the mysterious Wizards inside the Laboratory research 24x faster for 1h. Works in Home Village!
This new Magic Item has the power to increase the laboratory research time by 10x an hour and will be released on the June 2019 update.
Resource Potion
A haste spell turned into a potion, this magical elixir can greatly boost your resource collector efficiency for 1d. Works in Home Village.
The resource potion boosts the production of all Gold Mines, Elixir Collectors and Dark Elixir Drills for 1 day. Works only on the Home Village. It has the exact same effect of boosting them with Gems.
It can be purchased for 115 Gems or 10 League Medals and sold for 10 Gems.
Training Potion
This energetic elixir boosts your army production, increasing efficiency of Barracks, Spell Factories, Workshop and hero regeneration for 1h. Works in Home Village.
The Training Potions boosts all Army Buildings for one hour. Has the exact same effect of boosting the buildings with Gems, but with a single Potions, all Army Buildings will be boosted at once: Barracks, Dark Barracks, Spell Factory, Dark Spell Factory, and all the Hero altars. Works only on Home Village.
It can be purchased for 25 Gems and sold for 10 Gems.
Super Potion
Dark Elixir brewed into a delicious golden form, best enjoyed in a hot, humid environment with a few close friends. The Super Potion can boost a Troop into its Super Troop version for 3 days.
The Super Potion boosts a Super Troop.
Pet Potion
Containing everything a Pet needs for a healthy, glossy coat. This helps Pets upgrade 24x faster for 1h.
Accelerates work inside the Pet House.
