X-Bow
The X-Bow shoots mystical bolts with terrifying power. Load it with Elixir and the X-Bow works automagically. You can set it to target ground units at long ranges, or all targets at reduced range.
X-Bows are a single-target defensive building capable of targeting ground and/or air units, depending on its configuration.
Unlocked on Town Hall 9, it was added to the game in 2012 with this new Town Hall level.
X-Bow Explained
The X-Bow is a rapid-fire single-target defensive building.
Without any preferred target, it will always aim at the closest enemy troop.
Depending on its configuration, it can target ground and air troops.
This defense is reloaded every time the user logs into the game, so it becomes "dead" on Inactive Bases.
Range and Configuration
The X-Bow has two configurations: ground only or ground and air.
This configuration also affects its range and visual. When it's set to ground only, it will target only ground troops and have a range of 14 tiles. When it's set to ground and air, it will also attack air units, but on a smaller radius of 11 tiles.
This configuration affects the visual of the X-Bow. You can easily see how the enemy setup his X-Bows and prepare your attack accordingly.
Upgrading the X-Bows
Upgrading the X-Bow improves its damage and hit points.
Tips & Tricks
When preparing your attack, always check how the X-Bows are setup. If they are set to "ground only" they will not attack air units, making an attack with Balloons and Lava Hounds easier.
The X-Bow always targets the closest troop; however, once it locks in one troop, it will remain attacking it until it's killed or moves out of range. This is especially important when the X-Bows targets on Heroes.
